Learning Guide

Description:

We're seeking a Learning Guide for a 20—to 40-hour/week role at Moonrise. Learning Guides are like personal trainers for the mind. They get to know our Risers (kids 5 to 12 years old), guide their learning, and help them work through projects and challenges. The most important role of a Guide is to engage with our Risers and get to know them as unique individuals.

We're Looking For a Learning Guide Who
 

• Gains energy working with kids.
• Is warm, positive, energetic, and friendly.
• Has deep experience working with kids ages 5 to 12 years old.
• Prefers hands-on teaching and learning to tests and lectures.
• Is professional, responsible, and timely.
• Has experience communicating with parents.
• Wants to contribute to a greater purpose and mission.
• Takes kids seriously.
   

Experience teaching in a classroom or daycare setting is not required. All hands on, paid experience working with kids will be considered.

Responsibilities
 

• Making sure our Risers are safe, cared for, and encouraged to learn and pursue their own interests.
• Lead fun, hands-on experiences like arts and crafts, chess club, basketball, "heads down" projects like writing your own book, and walks to Decatur Square for creative play.
• You should thrive in an environment where every day is a little different (Moonrise offers 20+ different experiences).
• You will lead our current experiences and have the opportunity to co-create new experiences with Moonrise leadership.
