Naph Care, Inc., a leading provider of correctional healthcare services across the United States, is seeking experienced Licensed Mental Health Professionals to join its team at Manatee County Jail in Palmetto, Florida. This is a unique opportunity to provide vital mental health services within a secure correctional setting, working with a diverse population of patients who have complex medical and psychological needs.

As a Correctional Licensed Mental Health Professional, you will play an integral role in delivering counseling, therapy, and crisis intervention services to incarcerated individuals. This position requires professionals who are compassionate, resilient, and committed to improving behavioral health outcomes in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health, behavioral, and co-occurring substance use disorders.

  • Conduct and document mental health evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and counseling sessions (both individual and group).

  • Collaborate with medical, mental health, and correctional staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.

  • Provide group therapy and educational sessions focused on criminogenic needs, relapse prevention, and positive behavioral change.

  • Demonstrate expertise in DSM-V/DSM-V-TR criteria and apply them in patient evaluations and interventions.

  • Monitor compliance with site-specific and company policies, ensuring adherence to ACA and NCCHC standards.

  • Participate in staff training programs and contribute to the development of mental health educational materials.

  • Prepare reports, manage case files, and participate in hearings when necessary.

  • Support patient discharge planning and facilitate reentry preparation for release.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a mental health-related field.

  • Active, unrestricted state licensure as LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LMHP, LISW, or equivalent.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or American Red Cross preferred).

  • Must pass facility background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a clinical mental health or acute care setting; prior correctional healthcare experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders, psychotropic medications, and principles of social work.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively assess crisis situations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills, ensuring accurate treatment records and patient progress tracking.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR.

  • Ability to lift/move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, push, and pull as required.
