Description:
The Network Engineer position performs a critical role supporting the Linux technical needs of the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) customers. This requires a dynamic process and solutions oriented individual. These attributes are basic and fundamental to all aspects of the technical nature of this position.
The preferred candidate will be a full-time technical resource with a shared responsibility for Linux operating systems, infrastructure software, open systems platform and Linux servers supported by Office of Advancement Services (OAS). Responsibilities include implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the infrastructure supporting OAS applications and servers. This role provides support to technical teams throughout OAS by collaborating on systems status; including system changes, problems, enhancements and potential impacts. Additional responsibilities include maintaining system design, network, and application level troubleshooting. Candidates must possess strong problem solving, analytical and communications skills. The successful candidate will have strong technical competence, an ability to learn fast, and the ability to utilize available resources to resolve complex problems.
The candidate must exhibit an ability to work closely with support personnel and developers within Office of Advancement Services (OAS) as well as customers within the DAR organization. The candidate will work independently, functioning with project teams in OAS as warranted.
