Locum Emergency Medicine Physician

Description:

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Provide prompt, comprehensive medical care to emergency patients.

• Conduct patient assessments, history taking, physical exams, and diagnostic testing.

• Diagnose and stabilize life-threatening conditions.

• Develop and implement treatment plans for acute medical and surgical emergencies.

• Perform emergency procedures including suturing, wound care, splinting.

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, CT scans).

• Prescribe medications and manage pain.

• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

• Document patient care accurately.

• Maintain professionalism under pressure and handle multiple patients efficiently.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of emergency medicine principles and procedures.

• Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in emergency procedures and resuscitation.

• Ability to manage resources and prioritize care.

• Calmness and adaptability in high-pressure situations.

• Physical stamina for long demanding shifts.

Education & Certification:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine (ABIM), Family Medicine, or AOA.

• Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in Florida.
