Locum Emergency Medicine Physician

Aya Locums is seeking experienced Locum Emergency Medicine Physicians for a 13-week assignment in Fort Pierce, FL. This role offers highly competitive hourly pay, flexibility, and the opportunity to work in an acute care hospital environment while making a significant impact in patient care. Physicians will provide comprehensive emergency medical services to patients with acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring timely, effective, and compassionate care.

Assignment Details:

• Start Date: January 19, 2026

• Duration: 13 weeks

• Shift Coverage: Scheduled, No Call

• Shift Schedule: Standard 5 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00)

• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide rapid, comprehensive medical care to patients in emergency situations.

• Conduct patient assessments including history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing.

• Diagnose and stabilize patients with life-threatening or acute conditions.

• Develop and implement treatment plans for diverse emergency cases.

• Perform emergency procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound management.

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including imaging and laboratory results.

• Prescribe medications and manage acute pain effectively.

• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in medical records.

• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.

• Remain calm and decisive under high-pressure, fast-paced conditions.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of emergency medicine principles, diagnosis, and stabilization techniques.

• Proficiency in performing emergency procedures and resuscitations.

• Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and clinical judgment skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and staff.

• Ability to manage multiple critical cases simultaneously while maintaining professional composure.

• Physical stamina to sustain long and demanding shifts.

Education & Licensing Requirements:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine (ABIM), Family Medicine (ABFM), or AOA equivalent.

• Active and unrestricted Florida medical license.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in an Emergency Department preferred.
