Locum Internal Medicine Physician

Description:

Aya Locums is seeking a Locum Internal Medicine Physician for an immediate opening in Irvine, CA. This is a 13-week assignment starting September 3, 2025, offering highly competitive pay and professional support. Physicians will provide comprehensive internal medicine services in an outpatient clinic setting, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of adult patients with both acute and chronic conditions.

Key responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disorders, prescribing medications, and providing urgent care when required. Physicians will work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, create tailored care plans, consult specialists when needed, and ensure proper patient education regarding health promotion and disease prevention.

This position requires adaptability to fast-paced clinical environments, the ability to handle multiple patients effectively, and maintaining accurate medical records. Physicians will need to integrate seamlessly into different care teams while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Schedule & Coverage:

• Standard 3 shifts, 8-hour days (08:00 – 17:00)

• Scheduled coverage, no call duty

• Outpatient clinic work environment

Requirements:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution

• Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency program (ACGME/AOA)

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine (ABIM or AOA)

• Active and unrestricted California medical license

• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

• Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred
