Maintenance Supervisor

 

Description:

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to support dual multifamily sites in Portland, OR. The role ensures quality service to residents, maintaining property standards, responding to service requests promptly, and delivering superior customer service. The supervisor is responsible for the upkeep of apartments, common areas, pools, grounds, and other property features, ensuring they meet company standards and resident expectations.

Key responsibilities include preparing market-ready apartments, handling resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, addressing maintenance issues affecting budgets, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal housing laws, and attending training programs as required. The supervisor may also be on-call for emergency procedures and ensures all maintenance work aligns with safety and company policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare apartments including painting, carpet repair/cleaning, general repairs, and housekeeping.

  • Complete resident service requests in a timely manner.

  • Maintain proficiency in maintenance areas such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, painting, caulking, snow removal, pool maintenance, and life safety issues.

  • Maintain grounds, pools, hot tubs, common areas, and dog parks.

  • Report maintenance issues impacting budgets or safety to management.

  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance with proper documentation.

  • Follow local and federal housing laws and safety codes.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, representing Cushman & Wakefield professionally at all times.

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Ability to work any shift Sunday-Saturday to support business needs.

  • Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and maintenance equipment.

  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rate/ratio/percent, interpret bar graphs).

  • Valid Driver’s License required.

  • Certification: EPA 608 – Minimum Type II, or CPO, or local city-required certificate.

  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school.

  • 3+ years of related experience.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Office environment combined with outdoor property travel in varying weather conditions.

  • Regularly required to sit or stand for 85% of the time, operate office equipment, climb stairs, and travel between buildings.

  • Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally, frequently, or constantly.

  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
