Maintenance Technician

Description:

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to support the operational needs of commercial properties and facilities in New York, NY. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a hands-on professional with technical aptitude and a proactive approach to building systems maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance across various building systems. These include packaging and handling machinery, HVAC systems, plumbing, kitchen equipment, grounds and shop tools, fire protection systems, and more. Responsibilities also encompass the upkeep of building finishes, such as ceiling tiles, wall repairs, door hardware, and painting.

The role involves immediate response to emergencies and customer service requests, operating fire and life safety systems, performing carpentry work, and managing snow removal duties as needed. The technician will also assist with the installation and upgrades of building systems and contribute to recommendations that promote operational efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Basic computing skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)

• Technical or vocational training in at least one of the following: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, engine repair, mechanical power transmissions, or painting

Work Conditions:
The role may require physical exertion, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, crouching, and movement between various departments and floors. The position may involve working extended shifts, emergency responses, and on-call duties.
