Description:

The Manager on the Financial Crimes Prevention team will assist with the team’s two primary areas of responsibility: assessment of risk during the development of new products and services; and proactive awareness of financial crime trends to maintain awareness of the current threat landscape. This is an individual contributor role, which reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Crimes Prevention.

What you are good at


A successful candidate must possess strong organizational, analytic, leadership skills, be confident working with ambiguity, have familiarity with cyber-criminal practices and industry trends, and be able to synthesize data to make recommendations about risk mitigation.


The following are highlights of the key responsibilities of this role:

  • Represent Financial Crimes Risk Management as a primary point-of-contact during the development of new products and services
  • Ensuring service level agreements are met with regards to product engagement and risk assessment.
  • Assist other teams with research and recommendations to address a variety of risk factors.
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in project discussions to educate partners about financial crime risk, Schwab vulnerabilities, and brainstorm potential remedies to address gaps.
  • Work independently and take initiative on a range of financial crime activities.

What you have


Required Qualifications:

  • Strong reciprocation and leadership skills.
  • 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a financial crimes role within the financial services sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including recommendations for senior leadership
  • Critical thinking skills as it relates to the assessment of financial crimes risk during the development of new products or services.
  • Confidence dealing with ambiguity.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience within Advisor Services/RIA operations.
  • Familiarity with Risk Assessments in a highly regulated corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of financial services products and operational procedures/controls, along with the application to client experience.
  • Experience with fraud prevention and AML regulations.
  • Industry certification (Certified Fraud Examiner certification (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS), etc.).
