Description:

The Department of Dermatology is looking for an Accounting/Finance Manager that is innovative, energetic, and team-oriented. This new position will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all aspects pertaining to the accounting and the finance functions of the Midvalley location. This includes budgeting, variance analysis and reporting, cost reduction analyses, inventory and supply tracking, and general financial planning and analytics. Serves as backup for the Department’s Finance Director. Excellent excel skills, report creation, and proactive in their own learning and development.

Responsibilities

1. Forecasts, develops and manages budgetary goals and objectives that are consistent with Department objectives

2. Develops departmental strategies consistent with the assigned departments continuous quality improvement program.

3. Assists in preparing and assessing budget, revenue, expense, payroll and journal entries, and other accounting procurement documents.

4. Analyzes and monitors budgets and expenditures for compliance with fiscal accountability and reporting requirements.

5. Analyzes and forecasts revenue and expenditure trends.

6. Reviews and reconciles University management reports

7. Prepares and analyzes financial information, prepares reports and financial statements based on derived statistics and analysis performed.

8. Develops accounting systems and documents to support the input and handling of financial data and reports.

9. Interacts with internal and external auditors and participates in auditing projects.

10. May supervise or train lower level accounting staff.

11. Tracks and controls Midvalley inventory.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
