Position Details

The Child Mind Institute is looking for a Manager of Accounts Payable and Procurement to act as an important member of the Finance team, responsible for managing and improving critical business functions within the accounting office. Working under the direction of the Director of Finance and Accounting, the Manager of Accounts Payable and Procurement manages the accounts payable process, relevant annual tax filings, management of the corporate credit card program, management of semi-monthly payroll and associated payroll benefits posting process to the general ledger. The Manager of Accounts Payable and Procurement will help improve business processes under their direction by using technology and best practices.

Reporting into the Director of Finance and Accounting, this is a full-time, exempt, hybrid (minimum of 4 days in the office per week) position.

You Will
 

  • Lead a team of 3 to manage the procure to pay (p to p) process, by ensuring proper business practices, quality improvement of current procedures and implementing policies and best practices
  • Ensure timely filing of annual tax reporting forms
  • Manage corporate credit cards expense management system, including implementing new policies and procedures to reduce risk and improve the compliance, efficiency and effectiveness of Child Mind’s corporate card program
  • Oversee semi-monthly payroll and associated payroll benefits entries to the general ledger and partner with HR/Payroll department. Help ensure that payroll processes are as automated and effective as possible by using technology and reducing manual interventions
  • Help with the month-end, quarterly and year-end closing processes
  • Help prepare schedules and analysis for the annual financial audit
     

You Have
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar discipline
  • 7 years of professional accounting (at least 4 years must be nonprofit) experience
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience communicating and explaining complex financial information
  • Experience manipulating, organizing, and presenting large amounts of data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Advanced skills in Excel required
  • Experience with non-profit enterprise software, such as SAGE Intacct, Expensify, Workday, Financial Edge, or similar required

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
