Description:

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, a recognized leader in advanced defense and satellite communication systems, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales, Marketing, and Business Development Director. The selected individual will play a key leadership role in driving business growth through the sale of satellite microwave multidisciplinary modules and subsystems. This role demands strategic thinking, market insight, and the ability to cultivate strong client relationships within the satellite and defense technology industries.

The Director will be responsible for overseeing sales operations, developing marketing initiatives, identifying emerging opportunities, and driving overall revenue performance. This position requires a self-motivated, organized, and technically aware professional who can work across teams to align company offerings with customer needs and deliver exceptional results.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Account Management:

  • Lead sales initiatives to identify and secure new customers and markets within satellite commercial applications.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Develop, implement, and refine strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets.

Opportunity Identification:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and business opportunities for microwave and subsystem technologies.

  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and marketing teams to align product capabilities with client requirements.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Set measurable sales goals and monitor team performance to ensure alignment with company objectives.

  • Prepare and present regular updates, forecasts, and performance reports to senior management.

  • Analyze sales data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.

Marketing and Industry Networking:

  • Represent Kratos at major industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand brand visibility and generate new business leads.

  • Coordinate and manage participation in exhibitions, ensuring effective representation of Kratos’ capabilities in satellite technologies.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing initiatives and measure their effectiveness.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal sales, marketing, and technical teams to develop integrated customer solutions.

  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and innovation across departments.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff when required.


Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, or business development within satellite commercial markets.

  • Proven success in selling complex microwave modules, subsystems, or satellite communication products.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of satellite communication applications and customer requirements.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management abilities.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and digital sales tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Eligibility and ability to obtain a security clearance, if required.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Office-based role with frequent interaction across departments.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and perform repetitive tasks (e.g., keyboarding, phone operations) for extended periods.

  • Travel required for client meetings, conferences, and industry events as necessary.
