Description:
Black Rock, one of the world’s leading asset management firms, is hiring an Associate, Marketing and Distribution Compliance to join its US Compliance Department, focusing on marketing and sales oversight of the Portfolio Management Group (PMG). This role plays a key part in ensuring the firm’s adherence to regulatory standards, particularly SEC and FINRA rules, in marketing and distribution of investment products.
As part of a globally integrated compliance team, the selected candidate will work cross-functionally to support marketing initiatives and maintain a high standard of compliance and ethical practices. The role is based in New York, NY and operates under a hybrid work model, requiring at least four days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as subject matter expert for SEC Advisers Act, SEC Marketing Rule, and FINRA Rule 2210
Review and provide guidance on marketing materials across BlackRock’s Fundamental and Systematic investment strategies
Assess and advise on regulatory, reputational, and business risks related to marketing communications
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and business teams in product development and launch of PMG strategies
Develop and deliver educational materials and training related to marketing compliance
Participate in working groups to support PMG and compliance initiatives
Work closely with global colleagues to maintain consistent policy frameworks
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required
3–4+ years of experience in compliance or legal roles within asset management
Strong understanding of marketing and distribution regulations in the financial sector
Deep knowledge of investment products and asset management operations
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under deadlines
Effective team collaboration and project management capabilities
