Description:

REDMTNS is currently seeking a highly skilled and licensed Master Electrician with specialized expertise in substation systems, transformer maintenance, and control cabinet testing. This is an exciting and vital role that involves working on critical high-voltage infrastructure in industrial and utility environments. You will lead field operations and ensure the integrity, safety, and performance of electrical systems that power entire grids and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and conduct maintenance, testing, and diagnostics of high-voltage transformers, substations, and associated electrical systems.

  • Perform control cabinet inspections, wiring integrity checks, and fault isolation using advanced testing techniques.

  • Interpret and troubleshoot relay logic, interlock systems, and perform advanced testing like DGA (Dissolved Gas Analysis), TTR (Turns Ratio Testing), and IR (Infrared Thermography).

  • Implement and enforce high-voltage LOTO (Lockout Tagout) and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) safety procedures.

  • Provide technical leadership to field crews, delegating tasks and ensuring timely and quality execution of all site operations.

  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and industry-specific electrical regulations.

  • Document and report test results, anomalies, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.


Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Master Electrician license (required in any U.S. state; NY preferred).

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in industrial or utility electrical environments.

  • At least 5 years of direct work experience with substation and transformer testing and maintenance.

  • Proficient in control cabinet testing, schematic reading, and fault diagnostics.

  • Strong command of high-voltage safety standards, including lockout/tagout protocols and PPE.

  • Capable of managing site crews and independently overseeing operations in the field.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and reliability under pressure.


Location & Flexibility:

  • Base Location: Ideally located in New York State

  • Open to candidates nationwide willing to travel or relocate for field assignments.
