Ulta Beauty, the largest beauty retailer in North America, is seeking a Master Stylist to join its salon team in Whitestown, Indiana. This role is designed for highly skilled and passionate beauty professionals who excel in delivering exceptional hair care and beauty services. As a Master Stylist, you will engage with guests, assess their individual hair and beauty needs, and provide a wide range of salon services that enhance their total look. You will also contribute to the salon’s performance by meeting or exceeding weekly service and sales goals while ensuring a premium guest experience.

You will collaborate closely with the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager to maintain high operational standards, drive customer loyalty, and ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of hair services, including haircuts, hair design, coloring, lightening, texturing, treatments, blowouts, perms, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup application, and ear piercing (where applicable).

• Achieve or exceed weekly sales goals averaging $1250 and meet productivity targets for services while supporting overall store performance metrics including retail sales, guest loyalty, and shrink control.

• Consult with guests to recommend suitable services and retail products based on their needs and preferences.

• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance the guest service experience and promote sales.

• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to attract and retain clientele.

• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to deliver a comprehensive guest experience.

• Maintain compliance with all safety, sanitation, and infection control standards, following state board guidelines.

• Utilize salon booking systems efficiently to schedule appointments and encourage repeat business.

• Attend mandatory trainings and team meetings for continuous professional development.

• Assist in maintaining salon cleanliness and operational excellence, including backroom, restrooms, and common areas.

• Uphold Ulta Beauty’s dress code and loss prevention practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: Valid cosmetology license.

• Experience: Prior salon experience is required, preferably in a professional retail or salon environment.

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in haircutting, hair coloring, styling, texturing, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).

  • Ability to recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Capacity to build and maintain client relationships and foster guest loyalty.

Special Requirements:

• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift/move up to 10 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, reaching, and twisting during shifts.
