Material Handler

Description:

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials and construction services, is seeking motivated Material Handlers to join its Cumming, GA yard operations. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in materials handling, logistics, and warehouse operations within the building materials industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely handle, move, and stack construction materials and finished products to optimize workflow.

• Operate both motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment (specialized training provided if needed).

• Assist in receiving and storing incoming products, preparing materials for assembly or delivery.

• Follow instructions from foremen or senior handlers to learn work processes and improve operational skills.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

• Attend safety meetings and contribute to improving workplace safety practices.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions.

• Manual dexterity and the ability to operate material handling equipment.

• Basic knowledge of safety procedures in a warehouse or yard setting.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work performed in a production yard environment with exposure to temperature variations, chemicals, mechanical parts, noise, and dust.

• Regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.

• May require climbing, pushing, lifting, and kneeling during tasks.
