Description:
MEDVACON LIFE SCIENCES is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for a temporary 6-month contract. The role involves interpreting customer specifications, performing mechanical design analysis, and developing prototypes and detailed fabrication drawings. The engineer will troubleshoot design issues, execute design verification protocols, and collaborate with internal and external teams for fabrication, inspection, and testing of new product parts and assemblies. Training of technicians and operators on new process techniques is also part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Define mechanical design requirements based on customer specifications
Apply 3D CAD systems (preferably SolidWorks) to create mechanical designs and drawings
Develop prototypes, fabrication, and assembly drawings, and perform tolerance analysis
Troubleshoot and resolve design and processing issues
Develop and execute design verification protocols and technical reports
Work with internal/external resources for testing and inspection of assemblies
Develop and debug prototype tooling, equipment, and processes
Contribute to project planning and training of technicians/operators
Qualifications:
BS in engineering (mechanical preferred) or MS with less than 1 year experience
Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Knowledge of mechanical design, GD&T, metric ANSI/ISO standards, and medical device regulations (ISO 13485, ISO 7198, GMP)
Skilled in mechanism design, analytical reasoning, problem solving, and test data analysis
Experience with electronic document control systems and medical device development
Familiarity with Agile Scrum & Waterfall project planning methods
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
