Description:

CenterWell Senior Primary Care, part of Humana, is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Atlanta, GA facility. As the first point of contact for patients, this role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring quality patient care and smooth operations. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and advanced practice providers, providing patient support, direct care, and maintaining accurate records in the EMR system.

Key responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, discussing symptoms, administering medications and vaccines, performing phlebotomy, collecting specimens, conducting diagnostic tests, sterilizing equipment, and preparing examination rooms. Additionally, the Medical Assistant supports administrative functions such as documenting information, ensuring compliance with care standards, and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver optimal patient experiences.

This is a patient-facing role requiring TB screening and compliance with clinical standards. The position offers an opportunity to deliver compassionate care, apply medical knowledge, and support an organization focused on patient well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as first point of contact for patient care.

  • Conduct vital signs assessment, symptom discussion, and specimen collection.

  • Administer medications, vaccines, and perform phlebotomy.

  • Perform diagnostic screening tests and assist with procedures.

  • Sterilize and maintain medical equipment and exam rooms.

  • Enter and maintain patient data in EMR systems.

  • Support physicians and advanced practice providers in clinical tasks.

  • Deliver patient care in line with certification and organizational policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Successful completion of MA training program OR Certified/Registered MA OR 5+ years of experience with provider approval.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Must participate in Humana’s TB screening program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified or Registered MA (mandatory in Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina).

  • Phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration experience.

  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience.

  • Value-Based Care experience, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience measures.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (requires passing a proficiency exam).

Additional Information:

  • Weekly Hours: 40.
