Medical Biller

Description:

Mitchell Martin Inc. is hiring a Medical Biller to join their healthcare billing operations team under a contract-to-hire arrangement. This hybrid role based in Tarrytown, NY, supports the accurate and timely processing of medical billing and insurance submissions. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in medical billing systems, insurance guidelines, and electronic data interchange (EDI).

As a Medical Biller, your main responsibilities will revolve around reviewing, correcting, and submitting billing data while ensuring adherence to all compliance standards and deadlines. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams to resolve rejections, manage provider data, and coordinate electronic file submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and update billing encounters using standardized systems.

• Identify and correct errors in encounters to ensure proper coding and documentation.

• Run daily pre-bill reports to verify charges and ensure completeness.

• Submit billing information to clearinghouses and verify receipt.

• Work on billing rejections immediately upon notification, updating necessary records.

• Address queries and communicate with internal teams via email and tasking systems.

• Ensure physician and location eligibility with insurance plans before processing.

• Maintain and update provider master files with referring physician information.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Proven experience using medical billing systems.

• Strong knowledge of insurance billing procedures.

• Familiarity with electronic data interchange (EDI) processes.

• Ability to communicate clearly, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: USD 22/hour

• Monthly Equivalent: Approximately USD 3520/month (based on 40-hour work weeks)
