Description:
Pfizer is seeking a Global Development Lead, Medical Director to support early-stage oncology drug development. This high-impact hybrid role, based in New York, NY, is responsible for leading and executing early clinical development strategy from first-in-human studies to proof-of-concept (POC). The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to develop strategic plans, oversee clinical trials, and collaborate with key opinion leaders and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead early-stage clinical development strategy for oncology assets.
Manage all clinical documentation including protocols, amendments, investigator brochures, and regulatory submissions.
Serve as the medical and scientific lead on multiple early clinical programs.
Lead multi-disciplinary teams, including clinical scientists, pharmacologists, and biostatisticians.
Oversee dose escalation strategies, biomarker evaluations, and combination studies.
Evaluate safety, pharmacology, and efficacy data from ongoing/completed studies.
Coordinate external collaborations, scientific communications, and KOL interactions.
Drive innovations in early clinical development and translational oncology.
Represent Pfizer Oncology in internal governance, strategic initiatives, and external engagements.
Qualifications:
MD or MD/PhD required, preferably with board certification in Oncology.
At least 2 years of industry experience in oncology drug development, preferably in early-phase trials.
Strong leadership in clinical, translational, or basic biomedical research.
In-depth understanding of related fields: biostatistics, regulatory, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical sciences.
Demonstrated productivity through publications and strong scientific writing skills.
Strategic thinking and ability to manage complex clinical programs.
Proven ability to collaborate and lead in cross-functional, matrixed team environments.
Passion for oncology and commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $219800 – $366400 annually ($18317 – $30533 monthly)
Bonus Eligibility: Yes (25% bonus target of base salary)
Equity Program: Eligible for Pfizer’s long-term incentive program
