Medical Receptionist

 

Description:

We are a mental health counseling practice looking for a dependable, experienced Part-Time Receptionist to support our team. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth client experience, maintaining professional communication, and protecting sensitive client information.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Answer and manage phone calls, messages, and faxes via the Spruce: Medical Communication app
  • Schedule client appointments and manage clinician calendars
  • Use SimplePractice to handle electronic health records, billing, and client intakes
  • Submit and follow up on insurance claims
  • Collect client payments
  • Provide professional, compassionate support to clients and therapists
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations**
  • Manage waiting room area throughout the week

 

 

Requirements:

  • Documented HIPAA training (must be current)
  • Experience using Spruce: Medical Communication app and SimplePractice preferred, but training will also be provided.
  • Experience submitting insurance claims in a healthcare setting and pursuing remediation of claim denials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
