Description:
CenterWell Senior Primary Care, a Humana company, is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join its team in Covington, LA. This is a frontline, patient-facing role where the receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and callers, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and efficient experience. The role involves operating a multi-line phone system, greeting and directing visitors, issuing visitor passes, maintaining visitor logs, and accurately taking and distributing messages. The receptionist will also respond to routine inquiries such as clinic hours, contact information, and directions.
In addition, the position includes clerical and administrative responsibilities such as booking meeting rooms, organizing and distributing mail, handling courier packages, and supporting general office operations. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a strong focus on patient care and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate switchboard or multi-line phone system, route calls, and maintain call logs.
Greet and accommodate visitors, issue visitor passes, maintain logs, and direct them appropriately.
Provide information regarding clinic hours, location, contact details, and services.
Handle administrative tasks such as booking rooms, distributing mail, and processing courier packages.
Support patient care teams by ensuring smooth front-desk operations.
Maintain a professional, courteous, and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
1 year or more of experience in healthcare preferred; candidates with strong customer service experience in retail, hospitality, or call centers are also encouraged to apply.
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
Strong organizational ability with attention to detail.
Team-oriented attitude with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with value-based care models.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Additional Information:
Patient-facing role, requiring participation in the TB screening program.
Interview process may involve the HireVue platform.
Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
Compensation includes base pay plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus incentive.
