Member Service Advisor

Description:

Civic Federal Credit Union is seeking a Member Service Advisor (Branch Advisor) to join their Asheville branch. This role is critical in providing exceptional in-person service, enhancing member experience, and supporting financial wellness initiatives through personalized banking solutions. The Civic Advisor will act as the frontline ambassador, embodying the credit union’s values while delivering financial guidance and transactional support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Delivering tailored member experiences and cultivating trust through integrity, active listening, and relationship building.

• Educating members on Civic’s digital offerings and promoting financial wellness.

• Processing financial transactions accurately and professionally.

• Assisting members with account openings, loan applications, and product recommendations based on their financial needs.

• Performing daily cash handling duties and participating in branch opening and closing procedures.

• Collaborating cross-functionally with departments to resolve member inquiries and ensure a seamless service experience.

• Participating in internal beta tests for service and process improvements.

• Ensuring strict adherence to regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and operational procedures.

• Promoting Civic’s mission of inclusive, community-focused financial empowerment.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

• 1–3 years of experience in a customer service role.

• Excellent communication skills across verbal, written, and telephone interactions.

• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.

• Must be (or become within 6 months) a Notary Public in North Carolina.

• Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. and working with standard office equipment.

• Occasional travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in credit union member services.

• Familiarity with financial products and digital banking tools.
