Motion Designer

Description:

Hiebing, a dynamic full-service marketing agency with offices in Austin and Madison, is seeking a Video Editor & Motion Designer to join its collaborative and innovative video production team. This position offers the chance to work across a wide spectrum of clients and creative mediums—ranging from logo animation and social media content to full-scale commercials and branded videos.

You will be a vital part of a small, creative team, partnering with writers, art directors, and content strategists to develop and produce emotionally engaging video content. The role demands both technical expertise in post-production and an artistic flair for visual storytelling through motion graphics and animation.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Production & File Management

• Organize project bins, sync audio, and generate proxies and transcription files

• Prepare raw video footage and assets for efficient editing workflows

Motion Design & Animation

• Animate type and graphics in accordance with style frames or storyboards

• Create dynamic motion graphics that support and elevate brand messaging

Video Editing & Post-Production

• Use Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects to edit compelling video content

• Apply visual effects, graphics, and transitions to enhance narrative flow

• Ensure visual cohesion and maintain high technical standards

• Perform color correction and grading on LOG footage

• Edit and mix audio with sound design to create polished, professional deliverables

Creative & Production Support

• Assist with video shoots as needed, performing varied on-set roles

• Work collaboratively with creative teams to ensure alignment with brand vision

• Offer creative suggestions to elevate the quality of visual storytelling

• Ensure quality control on all final exports for consistency and branding

• Handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines with effective time management

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Motion Design, Video Editing, Film Production, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory)

  • Applicants with a strong portfolio and relevant work experience will also be considered

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator

  • Solid understanding of post-production workflows: video editing, motion design, audio mixing, and color grading

• Creative Aptitude:

  • A natural storyteller with a strong sense of pacing, composition, and visual style

  • Ability to creatively translate storyboards into motion graphics and video content

• Professional Attributes:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving tools and technologies

  • Portfolio showcasing a wide range of editing and motion design work is highly beneficial

• Other Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
