KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsibility for the design, development, test, and maintenance of embedded software for hard real-time applications for motor controls
  • Work individually across a matrixed team environment and collaborate within a team of engineers located in worldwide engineering centers

THE PERSON

Otis is looking for a hardworking, collaborative, self-motivator that works with creativity and energy as a motor control software engineer in a medium size group to design, develop and test motor drives for elevator systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering.
  • Must be familiar with
    • PM and induction motor dynamic models
    • Control theory including PI regulators, phase and gain margin stability analysis
    • Digital signal processing including digital filters, digital observers, DFTs and FFTs
  • Proficiency in C programming language
  • Must be able to develop and maintain real-time control software including ADCs, PWMs, state machines, hardware abstraction layers, serial communications, memory management.
  • Familiarity with Texas Instruments C2000 DSPs, Code Composer Studio, and ST microcontrollers.
  • Must be able to trouble-shoot complex software.
  • Must be able to work with software change management and configuration tools.
  • Must be able to work in a global team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in either Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
  • Electrical / power electronic hardware design development skills
