Description:

  • You will demonstrate a practical knowledge in exercising waterfront technical authority; providing independent engineering oversight of design development, production engineering, and test and evaluation efforts;
  • You will provide technical consultative services, and reviewing and interpreting complex engineering studies and technical documentation.
  • You will review, evaluate and apply technical data prepared by others to ensure compliance with the design specification, sound engineering principles, and the applicable contract.
  • You will review technical correspondence; diagrammatic, schematic, and shipbuilding drawings; design calculations; test procedures; shock test plans and reports; technical manuals; and technical reports.
  • You will resolve technical issues pertaining to shock (non-contact underwater explosives), seaway motion, or similar severe environments typical for Naval Vessels.
  • You will conduct technical evaluations and investigations into project and process problems which arise, applying risk management principles as appropriate.
  • You will prepare correspondence, technical and trip reports, work instructions, and change documents as required to complete project assignments.
  • You will provide technical consultation services and support as required to identify and resolve problems that arise during in process inspection, test, and trials. Documenting deficiencies and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective action.
  • You will share subject matter expertise and process knowledge with others.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
