Scope of Project

The State of South Carolina is looking for a Network Administrator - Advanced.

Why is this position open: New Position. To address increasing workload by supplementing Operations staff within the Network Operations Center to support enterprise network and identity services, including SD-WAN, PKI, and secure authentication enhancements.

 

Responsibilities:

• Support enterprise network and identity initiatives including SD-WAN deployment, PKI lifecycle management, and secure authentication services

• Monitor, identify, and remediate issues with enterprise network and identity services

• Support network connectivity and authentication services on Windows-based systems

• Support connectivity and secure access on mobile devices (Apple devices)

• Manage the network and identity infrastructure lifecycle

• Create and maintain network documentation (diagrams, coverage, and design documentation)

• Assist with deployment, configuration, and support of SD-WAN, PKI, and secure authentication solutions

• Perform enterprise network deployments, installations, and upgrades

• Perform firmware/software/security/feature upgrades across platforms

• Monitor trouble ticket system and resolve assigned tickets

• Provide troubleshooting for network and authentication issues

• Assist staff and contractors with connectivity problems

• Coordinate testing and validation of solutions

• Follow State security and IT policies and standards

• Work with Network, Security, and Server teams

• Perform physical work including ladder usage and lifting 40 lbs

• Provide regular status updates to project team

 

Required/Preferred Skills:

Required Skills:

• 3+ Years of Experience with Enterprise Network Infrastructure and LAN Administration

• 3+ Years of Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting switches and wireless access points

• 3+ Years of Experience with SD-WAN, PKI, and secure authentication services

• 3+ Years of Experience troubleshooting network connectivity on Windows and mobile devices

• 3+ Years of Experience creating, reading, and maintaining network documentation and diagrams

 

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications from CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft (active/inactive must be specified)

• Cisco Networking Academy or similar bootcamp/training
