Nursing Quality Director

 

Description:

Mitchell Martin Inc. is seeking a Director of Nursing Quality to spearhead and enhance the quality and safety initiatives within the Nursing Administration Department at a major healthcare facility in Westchester County, NY. This is a full-time on-site leadership role that offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN to drive evidence-based quality improvement strategies and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

The successful candidate will take ownership of organizational quality initiatives, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and play a pivotal role in regulatory preparedness and clinical performance evaluation. You will directly support nursing staff development, oversee compliance issues, and implement sustainable improvements using national benchmarks such as the National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI).

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the quality and safety programs within the Nursing Administration

  • Drive quality improvement strategies for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams

  • Oversee regulatory compliance monitoring and initiate performance enhancements

  • Conduct occurrence reviews, handle complaint investigations, and develop corrective action plans

  • Benchmark performance data using NDNQI

  • Evaluate and support nursing staff learning needs around performance and quality standards

  • Collaborate with leadership to create and implement evidence-based improvement initiatives

  • Guide departments on project management, research utilization, and change management strategies


Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New York State

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Mandatory

  • Master’s degree – Preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care environment

  • Proven background in Quality Improvement, evidence-based practice, and regulatory compliance

  • Strong proficiency in project management, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead change initiatives and manage complex projects with precision

Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $125000 to $130000

  • Monthly Equivalent: $10416.67 to $10833.33
