Operations Engineer

SpaceX, driven by the mission to enable human life on Mars, is seeking a highly motivated Operations Engineer (Supply Chain) to join their supply chain technology team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in optimizing the sourcing, planning, procurement, warehousing, and transportation of materials essential to building cutting-edge spacecraft and launch vehicles. You will work cross-functionally with various teams to develop and refine processes that enhance material flow and logistics value streams, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions to ensure seamless operations. This position requires a mix of technical problem-solving, data analysis, process development, and interpersonal skills to drive meaningful operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and lead strategic projects to completion.

• Pull, analyze, and transform data to assess current operations and develop business cases for improvement initiatives.

• Develop current and future state process flows to enhance supply chain operations.

• Collaborate with software teams to define requirements for enterprise system enhancements.

• Anticipate and address challenges in material flow and logistics, determine root causes, and implement solutions.

• Standardize and continuously improve key process indicators and operational metrics.

• Create and maintain policies, standards, and documentation to ensure the sustainability of implemented solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.

• Minimum 1+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or inventory management.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Master’s degree in engineering or supply chain management.

• Strong knowledge of statistics, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and data visualization tools (SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Excel).

• Experience with MRP/ERP systems, capacity planning, inventory, and production planning.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, six sigma principles, and process improvement methodologies.

• Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.

• Up to 25% travel required.

• Position is strictly on-site in Brownsville, Texas – remote work is not considered.

• Must meet U.S. export regulations (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
