Description:
SpaceX, driven by the mission to enable human life on Mars, is seeking a highly motivated Operations Engineer (Supply Chain) to join their supply chain technology team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in optimizing the sourcing, planning, procurement, warehousing, and transportation of materials essential to building cutting-edge spacecraft and launch vehicles. You will work cross-functionally with various teams to develop and refine processes that enhance material flow and logistics value streams, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions to ensure seamless operations. This position requires a mix of technical problem-solving, data analysis, process development, and interpersonal skills to drive meaningful operational improvements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and lead strategic projects to completion.
Pull, analyze, and transform data to assess current operations and develop business cases for improvement initiatives.
Develop current and future state process flows to enhance supply chain operations.
Collaborate with software teams to define requirements for enterprise system enhancements.
Anticipate and address challenges in material flow and logistics, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
Standardize and continuously improve key process indicators and operational metrics.
Create and maintain policies, standards, and documentation to ensure the sustainability of implemented solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
Minimum 1+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or inventory management.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Master’s degree in engineering or supply chain management.
Strong knowledge of statistics, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and data visualization tools (SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
Experience with MRP/ERP systems, capacity planning, inventory, and production planning.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, six sigma principles, and process improvement methodologies.
Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
Up to 25% travel required.
Position is strictly on-site in Brownsville, Texas – remote work is not considered.
Must meet U.S. export regulations (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
