Operations Support Engineer

Description:

York Space Systems, a leading innovator in spacecraft production and mission operations, is seeking an Operations Support Engineer I to support the SDA’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Transport Layer. This network provides multi-band global communications access and persistent encrypted connectivity for warfighter missions.

The selected candidate will initially undergo up to six months of on-site training in Greenwood Village, CO, after which they will relocate to Grand Forks, ND, to provide 24/7 operational support at a government customer facility. The role involves working in a highly dynamic environment with multiple government customers and partner organizations, ensuring critical mission capabilities for national defense.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform on-console tasks for real-time spacecraft operations and anomaly investigations across multiple missions.

• Develop and execute procedures for mission operations and spacecraft mission planning.

• Respond to anomalies and software issues for both ground and space assets.

• Monitor telemetry, health, and safety of space and ground segments.

• Support mission integration into the operations center.

• Assist in mission planning activities for the PWSA constellation.

Required Qualifications:

• Up to 6 months of on-site training in Greenwood Village, CO, followed by relocation to Grand Forks, ND.

• Current SECRET Security Clearance.

• Familiarity with Python programming.

• Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and off-hours as required.

• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.

• Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, orbital dynamics, and ground systems.

• Experience with telemetry analysis, space situational awareness, flight/ground software, network administration, and data management.

• TS/SCI Security Clearance.

• General familiarity with current cybersecurity best practices.
