Description:

ONEOK, a Fortune 500 midstream service provider with over 100 years of history, is hiring an Operator for their petroleum pipeline facility in El Dorado, Kansas. This facility operates 24/7 on rotating shifts. The Operator is responsible for maintaining pipeline infrastructure and supporting operational and monitoring equipment to ensure compliance with regulations and company safety standards.

The role demands ensuring equipment reliability, accurate measurement, and quality control of transported products, while fostering positive relationships with carriers and customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor product movements at the terminal/station via unloading skids and mainline, including valve lineups and refined product pumps operation.

  • Perform product sampling and analysis using in-house lab equipment.

  • Measure physical stock, meters, and variances related to additives.

  • Input data into computer systems and conduct daily facility inspections.

  • Assist drivers and customers with truck rack operations.

  • Support technicians with maintenance and general duties as assigned.

  • Participate actively on the facility emergency response team.

  • Adhere to company policies including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements.

  • Attend and participate in safety training meetings.

  • Perform duties requiring alertness to hazardous conditions, including DOT-regulated operations, maintenance, and emergency responses on pipelines.


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Associate’s degree in Petroleum Technology or related field (preferred)


Experience:

  • Preferably 3 years of experience in a related field.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.

  • Effective oral and written communication in English.

  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Proficient in using Windows-based computers for timesheets, emails, and company intranet.

  • Ability to work scheduled shifts and be on call as needed.

  • Must be able to work onsite at assigned location.


Physical Demands:

  • Heavy physical work requiring exertion of 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and lighter exertion frequently.

  • Frequent standing, walking, and physical movements including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering.

  • Constant use of senses like feeling, talking, hearing, vision (near, far, depth perception, color).

  • Exposure to environmental conditions such as weather, dust, fumes, vibration, noise, and heights.


Working Conditions:

  • Work is conducted indoors and outdoors, often in climate-controlled environments.

  • Exposure to wet/humid, extreme cold/heat, moving machinery, and potential electrical hazards.

  • Frequent repetitive motions and extended use of computer monitors.


Travel & Driving:

  • Travel to other locations may be required.

  • Potential assignment of a company vehicle requiring applicable driver’s license.
