Outreach Coordinator

 

Description:

Help connect the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum (WAAAM) to the wider world. This position is multifaceted. Successful candidate will run the membership operations for the museum (includes running a member database, sending mailers, promoting membership drives). Also involves writing a monthly electronic newsletter based in part on input from the various WAAAM departments. Position will also coordinate various Social Media endeavors for the museum including assorted visitor review sites and Google Adwords. Assist in developing, managing, and executing new programs and activities for students, educators, families, and the community as a whole. As a team member of the museum, this position will also contribute to Front Desk operations and other duties as assigned.

Personal and Professional Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree with one to two years’ related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The candidate is expected to have up-to-date computer skills and some knowledge of Google Adwords.
  • 2 years’ experience working and interacting with the public and/or volunteers.
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation. The ability to multi-task is essential.
  • Strong writing and speaking skills, including serving as an articulate spokesperson.
  • Excellent customer service abilities, accuracy, enthusiasm, and productive work ethic.
  • A love of history is a plus.
