Outside Account Executive

Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Senior API/Java/Python Developer to join its Intelligence Sector team supporting the national security mission through advanced technology solutions.
This role involves the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and APIs using Java and Python, with opportunities to work on backend systems, API integration, and cloud-based deployments.

The position is based in Arlington, Virginia, with a hybrid work model available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and robust applications using Java and Python.

• API Development: Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices ensuring security, scalability, and performance.

• Database Management: Work with SQL and NoSQL systems such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL.

• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams—frontend developers, product managers, and QA—to define requirements and ensure system cohesion.

• Optimization & Security: Troubleshoot performance issues and implement secure data handling and authentication methods.

• Cloud Integration: Develop and deploy solutions within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

• Maintenance & Support: Provide continuous support, upgrades, and improvements for existing applications.

Skills & Qualifications – Senior Level:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 5–8 years of experience

• Active TS/SCI Clearance (or eligibility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with CI Poly)

• Proficiency in Java and Python, with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Django

• Strong understanding of REST, GraphQL, SOAP API architectures

• Experience using Postman, Swagger UI, and similar API tools

• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases

• Version control experience with Git

• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and in teams

• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Skills & Qualifications – SMS Level:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 10+ years of experience

• Active TS/SCI Clearance (with ability to maintain TS/SCI + CI Poly)

• Advanced experience in Java/Python development, APIs, and cloud architecture

• Proven expertise with modern frameworks (Spring Boot, Flask, Django)

• Deep understanding of API design principles and integration

• Strong database and version control proficiency

• Familiarity with DevOps and container orchestration tools
