Description:
White & Case LLP, a globally renowned law firm with a presence in over 40 locations worldwide, is seeking a Manager for Partner Integration and Transition to join its New York office. This key role will focus on managing the integration of lateral partners into the firm and overseeing partner succession planning within the Career Transition Program.
The firm is known for handling complex cross-border legal work and is recognized for its highly collaborative and globally interconnected culture. The ideal candidate will be experienced in professional services, highly organized, proactive, and able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Lateral Partner Integration:
Serve as a primary liaison and “concierge” for new lateral partners, ensuring their smooth cultural and operational integration into the firm.
Facilitate and monitor the transition of matters, clients, and business development activities in line with the lateral partner’s business case.
Collaborate with partners, Integration Partners, and other stakeholders to align expectations and drive performance.
Manage all integration review checkpoints including 3-month, 9-month, and 18-month progress meetings.
Create and track clear business case success metrics, reporting to the Director of Lateral Partner Integration.
Maintain oversight and coordination of various departments and personnel contributing to a lateral partner’s integration.
Career Transition and Succession Planning:
Automate and streamline processes within the Career Transition Program.
Coordinate annual succession planning meetings for partners approaching age 57.
Liaise with senior stakeholders (e.g., Regional Section Heads, EC members) to ensure scheduling and strategic planning.
Track progress of individual partner transition and ensure that all procedural and communication steps are followed.
At least 7 years of experience in a law firm or professional services setting.
Proven leadership and management skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Familiarity with business development, finance, HRIS systems, and partner compensation structures.
Strong verbal and written communication; ability to convey complex ideas clearly and tactfully.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive partner information with discretion.
Creative, proactive, and adaptable in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours and travel when necessary.
