Holland America Line, a global leader in premium cruise experiences since 1873, is seeking a Director of Performance Analytics to lead its analytical strategy across all Onboard Revenue (OBR) categories. The role is pivotal in shaping data-driven decision-making processes that enhance revenue performance, operational efficiency, and strategic growth.
As the Director of Performance Analytics, you will lead a team of skilled data professionals to develop, execute, and manage advanced analytics initiatives across diverse onboard categories such as Food & Beverage, Shore Excursions, Retail, Spa, Photo, Art, Weddings, and Connectivity. You will partner closely with executive leadership, operations, and revenue management teams to translate analytical insights into actionable business strategies that elevate guest experiences and profitability across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analytics Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics roadmap covering all OBR categories.
Establish key performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to monitor business outcomes.
Deliver actionable insights to optimize pricing, promotions, and product innovation.
2. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing analytics team, ensuring skill development and operational excellence.
Define performance standards, team goals, and training initiatives to build a strong analytical culture.
Partner with HR on talent acquisition, retention, and professional growth strategies.
3. Advanced Analytics & Insights
Execute complex analytical projects using SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Python.
Build and maintain predictive models, performance dashboards, and trend analyses to guide strategic decisions.
Introduce machine learning solutions to enhance insight generation and drive continuous business innovation.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with senior executives, revenue management, operations, marketing, and IT teams to ensure analytical alignment with business objectives.
Ensure data accuracy and system optimization through close coordination with data engineering and IT departments.
Present analytical findings, trends, and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, or Hospitality Management.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, or performance management within cruise, hospitality, or travel sectors.
Minimum 3 years of experience leading analytics teams.
Proven experience in database management, SQL/Python development, and data warehousing.
Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, and statistical software tools.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to translate data insights into strategic business recommendations.
Experience working with large datasets and cross-functional teams.
Background in revenue management or performance optimization preferred.
Excellent analytical thinking, organization, and multi-tasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the cruise industry or in onboard revenue categories such as Retail, Spa, Shore Excursions, or Art Sales.
Knowledge of financial modeling, cost analysis, and business operations.
Demonstrated success in executive reporting and data visualization.
