This remote role offers the opportunity to provide culturally responsive, evidence-based therapy to individuals and couples navigating the complex emotional landscape of the perinatal period—from conception through two years postpartum.
The ideal candidate is passionate about reproductive justice, maternal well-being, and delivering inclusive, compassionate mental health care within a supportive nonprofit model.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and/or couple’s therapy tailored to perinatal clients, covering issues such as postpartum depression, anxiety, trauma, birth-related grief, and attachment challenges.
Employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques including but not limited to CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and mindfulness practices.
Maintain up-to-date, accurate clinical documentation and case notes in accordance with organizational and HIPAA standards.
Participate in regular clinical supervision, peer consultation, and case coordination meetings.
Collaborate effectively with other care providers such as doulas, case managers, and support teams to deliver integrated client care.
Foster an inclusive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment for all clients, regardless of background or circumstance.
Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards as outlined by the profession and state law.
Qualifications:
LCSW, LCPC, or other valid Illinois clinical mental health license (active and in good standing).
At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience; perinatal-specific clinical experience strongly preferred.
Deep understanding of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), trauma-informed care, and early attachment.
Demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent care and work with diverse populations.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently while managing a flexible caseload.
Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification) is preferred or must be willing to obtain it during tenure.
Workplace Model:
Fully Remote (with optional office space available upon request)
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on qualifications and experience, or a 60/40 insurance split.
Contractor status (1099) with flexible scheduling based on availability and client load.
