Maintains harmonious relationships with permit applicants.
Determines the acceptability of permit applications.
Answers inquiries and instructs applicants as to proper permit procedures.
Advises department personnel as to the changing highway conditions resulting from permit construction work.
Maintains and tracks all access and utility permits with a computerized record system.
Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conductive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or a job related technical/science curriculum PLUS five years of engineering experience; OR Seven years of engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of construction techniques, and strong initiative, judgment, and planning skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
