Delta System & Software, Inc. is actively seeking a highly skilled Pharma Business Analyst for a 12-month contract position based in Foster City, California. This hybrid role is ideal for professionals located in California with a strong background in pharmaceutical lab operations and a deep understanding of data integration platforms and lab informatics.
As a Pharma Business Analyst, you will act as the key liaison between scientific users, IT stakeholders, and data engineering teams. Your primary responsibility will be to gather business and data requirements, define workflows, and support the implementation of data-centric solutions aimed at digital transformation within pharmaceutical laboratories.
Liaise between laboratory stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
Understand lab operations and workflows involving Product Development Manufacturing (PDM), Quality Control (QC), and R&D labs.
Provide support for lab instrumentation and systems such as HPLC, LIMS, ELN, and Empower.
Define integration and data flow requirements using platforms such as Tetrascience, with a focus on API- and ETL-based data pipelines.
Align lab data outputs with metadata standards, semantic models, and ontologies like Allotrope to support FAIR data principles.
Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to convert scientific needs into structured, actionable data models.
Create functional specifications, process flow diagrams, traceability matrices, and documentation to support end-to-end project delivery.
Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in pharmaceutical, biotech, or scientific R&D domains.
Strong knowledge of lab informatics systems such as HPLC, LIMS, ELN, Empower, and related data workflows.
Familiarity with data integration strategies, APIs, semantic modeling, metadata tagging, and scientific ontologies.
Hands-on experience with platforms like Tetrascience is a significant advantage.
Excellent documentation, stakeholder communication, and requirement gathering skills.
Experience working in GxP-regulated pharmaceutical environments.
Exposure to scientific data governance, digital lab transformation, and modern data architectures.
Knowledge of FAIR data principles and structured lab data management frameworks.
