Description:
Emory Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist to join its weekend care team, providing high-quality rehabilitative care and treatment to patients with acute or complex medical conditions. The therapist will play a crucial role in delivering patient-centered physical therapy services while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure effective patient outcomes.
Work Schedule:
Friday through Monday (32 hours total)
9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Key Responsibilities include:
Provide comprehensive evaluations, testing, treatments, and education for patients and families based on individualized needs.
Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans with measurable goals, modifying them as required according to patient progress.
Deliver direct patient care, including specialized physical therapy treatments aligned with the patient’s care plan.
Educate patients and families regarding care, exercises, and therapy goals to enhance recovery.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and discharge planning.
Supervise and mentor students, support staff, and junior therapists.
Conduct peer reviews, quality assurance evaluations, and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Recommend and facilitate procurement of equipment required for therapy.
Conduct in-service training programs, provide consultation to staff, and serve as a clinical instructor to students.
Participate in departmental committees, professional community engagement, and research activities when requested.
Maintain accurate records and ensure clear interdisciplinary communication for continuity of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an APTA-accredited Physical Therapy school.
Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia.
Minimum of 1 year experience as a Physical Therapist (2 years acute care preferred).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association).
