Physical Therapist

Description:

Carilion Clinic is seeking a qualified and dedicated Physical Therapist (Flex/PRN) to join the Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital Rehabilitation team. The selected candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients, ensuring individualized treatment plans that align with their medical diagnoses and developmental/chronological needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments, interpret physician referrals, and develop tailored treatment programs to achieve mutually set goals with patients and/or family members.

• Coordinate patient care effectively through written and verbal communication with patients, families, therapists, Clinical Team Leaders, managers, and other healthcare professionals.

• Document all patient care activities in compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.

• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and collaborate with therapy staff, volunteers, and students to ensure efficient and quality care.

• Participate in additional departmental activities including staff meetings, in-services, program evaluation, new employee orientation, committee involvement, and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy.

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience OR a Master’s/Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.

• Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

• AHA BLS certification (from a Carilion-approved program) within six months of employment.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
