Plant Supervisor

Description:

• Under direct supervision, oversees the relocation of the furniture manufacturing industry from McCormick, South Carolina to broad river correctional institution (Columbia).
• Will ultimately serve as the industry supervisor for the agency furniture manufacturing industry, while adhering to the agency mission: safety, service, and stewardship.
• Supervise inmate work crew: screen, select, train & evaluate assigned workers.
• Oversee the activity in the program.
• Coordinate with the manager to achieve maximum production results.
• Responsible for the security of the worksite.
• Keep area safe for inmates, employees & visitors (safety).
• Serve as the plant manager when needed/required.
• Additional duties as required.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. & work in extreme temperatures.
• This essential position is required to work a modified or irregular schedule that may include evenings, weekends & holidays.
• Monday - Thursday work week.
