Description:

LL Funds, LLC, an independent investment manager specializing in asset-backed securities, fixed income, and private credit, is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Structuring & Portfolio Management to join its Asset-Based Private Credit platform in Philadelphia, PA.

This position provides a unique opportunity to work across the entire investment lifecycle, from origination and underwriting through execution and portfolio management. The role requires a blend of financial acumen, analytical expertise, negotiation skill, and commercial judgment. Ideal candidates will have deep experience in structured finance, asset-backed lending, and credit structuring—paired with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.


Key Responsibilities

  • Underwriting and Structuring:
    Evaluate and underwrite complex asset-based financing opportunities across multiple sectors, including consumer, commercial, hard assets, and contractual cashflows.

  • Negotiation and Transaction Execution:
    Lead negotiations with counterparties regarding advance rates, covenants, pricing, eligibility criteria, and structural protections. Oversee due diligence, financial modeling, legal documentation, and investment committee materials.

  • Portfolio Management:
    Manage active investments through ongoing monitoring, renewals, amendments, and renegotiations. Ensure covenant compliance, track collateral performance, and maintain quality reporting and risk oversight.

  • Performance Oversight:
    Review and approve portfolio performance reports, analyze credit risk metrics, and evaluate collateral quality and yield performance.

  • Investment Strategy and Capital Formation:
    Contribute to fund strategy development, investor reporting, and capital formation efforts. Support leadership in developing innovative asset-backed financing solutions.

  • Risk and Compliance:
    Maintain high ethical and professional standards in transaction documentation and ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced credentials such as an MBA or CFA preferred.

  • Experience:

    • At least 10 years of professional experience in private credit, structured finance, or asset-based lending.

    • Proven success in underwriting and structuring complex asset-based transactions.

    • Deep knowledge of credit and collateral analysis, cash flow modeling, and securitization or warehouse finance structures.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

    • Comfort handling large datasets and structured cashflow models.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to simplify complex financial insights.

    • Strong negotiation and relationship management capabilities.

    • Sound commercial judgment, balancing yield optimization with credit risk and long-term partnerships.

    • Collaborative mindset and entrepreneurial attitude, suited to a lean, high-accountability team environment.
