Practice Management Specialist

 

Description:

A Top 100 Law Firm is seeking a Practice Management Specialist to play a key role in enhancing the operational efficiency and innovation of their practice groups. This position involves collaborating closely with practice group leaders, business development teams, and other administrative teams to streamline processes, support attorney efficiency, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing practice group resources, addressing operational issues, and driving initiatives that support practice innovation. Additionally, the specialist will work on financial reporting, billing and collection processes, and associate development. This position offers a competitive compensation package with opportunities for overtime and bonus.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing resources: Monitor workflow, track availability, and work with Staffing Partners on associate assignments.

  • Meeting and communication support: Develop agendas and presentations for practice group meetings, preparing communications with Practice Group Leaders.

  • Operational support: Identify and address operational issues to enhance attorney efficiency and innovation in practices.

  • Firm collaboration: Serve as a liaison between practice groups and administrative teams to implement firm-wide initiatives.

  • Lateral attorney integration: Support initiatives aimed at integrating lateral attorneys into the firm.

  • Business planning and execution: Collaborate with leadership to develop, execute, and monitor the annual Practice Group Business Plan.

  • Practice innovation: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance legal services, client service, and stay ahead of industry trends.

  • Financial reporting: Analyze financial data regularly and prepare ad hoc reports for practice group meetings.

  • Billing and collections: Facilitate the timekeeping and billing process, monitor inventory reports, and follow up with attorneys.

  • Pricing discussions: Support discussions regarding pricing solutions and ensure efficient matter management.

  • Risk management: Ensure processes for conflicts, risk management, and outside counsel guidelines are followed.

  • Associate development: Work with Talent Development on associate training, evaluations, promotions, and retention initiatives.

  • Recruitment: Identify gaps in attorney resources and support practice group recruiting efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in practice management within a law firm or similar industry role.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.

  • Experience in attorney resource management and working with leadership teams.

  • Familiarity with billing and collections processes, pricing solutions, and risk management protocols.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic initiatives to improve practice operations.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000

  • Overtime and Bonus potential.
