Practice Support Project Manager

 

Description:

Consult on, manage, and support assigned matters through all aspects of discovery, while adhering to Firm guidelines, protocols, and best practices.

Duties
 

  • Consult with legal teams to develop appropriate case-specific strategies throughout the discovery process. Review ESI protocols and determine if any specifications are burdensome. Communicate technical difficulties to case team in an accessible manner.
  • Perform electronic data processing via Relativity processing, import data into review platforms, and troubleshooting errors. Validate document productions from opposing counsel/government agencies and summarize problems.
  • Prepare third party RFPs, develop & maintain project, level budgets, and attain necessary signatures to submit invoices.
  • Negotiate, review, compare, and present third-party proposals to legal team.
  • Ensure third-party vendors conform to all firm guidelines, protocols, and best practices. Verify search requests and production set coding.
  • Accurately interpret and understand case/team needs, while setting appropriate expectations and communicating risk factors.
  • Anticipate and proactively resolve issues. Escalate unresolved issues to the help desk and/or group managers as appropriate.
  • Assist legal teams with various tasks including, but not limited to, searching, data analysis & validation, and privilege log setup.
  • Enter time entries for all billable and non-billable time, in accordance with firm protocol.
  • Train end-users on Practice Support applications.

  • Exceptional project management skills, including project planning, creating documentation, developing & maintaining project & level budgets, provide on-going consultative support & training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exercise good judgment and understand and weigh risk factors associated with requests.
  • Ability to learn and independently use new applications.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating as a team.
  • Working knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and how stages relate to each other.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, service, and positive attitude toward members of the firm as well as clients and vendors via email, voice, and in-person communications.
