The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as its next President & CEO. The Chamber is a leading advocate for the local business community, committed to economic development and enhancing the quality of life in the region. The President & CEO will be responsible for guiding the Chamber’s strategic direction, advocating on behalf of its members, and managing operations and programs that contribute to the growth and vitality of the Greater Tallahassee area.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Membership Growth & Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to attract, engage, and retain Chamber members by delivering high-value programs and services. Build strong relationships with business members to support and grow local businesses.

• Board Relations: Serve as a strategic advisor to the Chamber's Board of Directors, ensuring transparent communication and collaboration to support the Chamber’s mission and objectives.

• Advocacy & Public Policy: Represent the Chamber in government and policy forums to promote business-friendly policies. Collaborate with other organizations to influence the region’s economic agenda.

• Community Leadership: Act as a prominent leader in the community by building relationships with government, business leaders, and civic stakeholders. Represent the Chamber on relevant boards and lead strategic coalitions.

• Revenue Generation & Fundraising: Lead efforts to diversify the Chamber’s funding sources beyond member dues. Identify and secure grants, sponsorships, and partnerships that support organizational growth.

• Staff Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing internal team. Promote a culture of excellence and innovation aligned with the Chamber’s goals.

• Financial & Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure the financial health and efficiency of the Chamber and its affiliate programs—Leadership Tallahassee, World Class Schools, and Access Tallahassee.

• Public Representation: Serve as the public face of the Chamber. Clearly communicate the Chamber’s mission, initiatives, and achievements to the media, government, and public.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications in business, public administration, or organizational leadership preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in executive leadership, preferably in a chamber of commerce, economic development agency, nonprofit, or equivalent environment. Experience with governance and board engagement is highly desirable.
