Principal Product Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Manager, Virtualization to lead our billion-dollar virtualization-related business segment, evolving and expanding our virtualization-focused product strategy. This role requires a strategic thinker with a mix of technical expertise and business acumen to shape product evolution that meets dynamic business needs. The candidate will oversee product development, collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, finance, and go-to-market teams, and drive initiatives that achieve business growth targets.

Key responsibilities include leading virtualization-related product strategy, performing deep business analysis to identify trends and opportunities, collaborating with leadership and finance to set growth targets and OKRs, and driving execution across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud deployments. The candidate will assess competitive landscapes, collaborate with customers and partners to define winning go-to-market models, ensure adoption of products and features, gather customer feedback, conduct market and technology analysis, and engage in customer and partner-facing activities to drive business impact.

The role also requires delivering compelling presentations to diverse audiences, aligning with key ecosystem partners, and serving as a spokesperson for Pure Storage. Success will be measured by the health of the business, market share growth, and timely delivery of products.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience: 7+ years in Product Management, Technical Marketing, or Marketing.

• Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, Kubernetes, core infrastructure technologies, and storage technologies.

• Experience with SQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, disaster recovery offerings, and migration workflows.

• Familiarity with cloud-based VMware models (e.g., Azure VMware Solution, VMware Cloud on AWS).

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and execute large-scale complex projects.

• Strong analytical, data-driven mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

• High bias for action and proven ability to deliver business growth in a multi-billion-dollar market.

• Must be able to work on-site at Santa Clara, CA, office as per company policy.
