Procurement Specialist

Description:

CyberCoders is seeking a highly motivated Buyer/Procurement Specialist to join a manufacturing facility located in Elkland, Pennsylvania, near the PA/NY state line. This is a direct hire, permanent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and is committed to operational excellence.

The role requires working onsite daily with no hybrid or remote work option available. Candidates must have strong experience purchasing raw materials, particularly chemical-based materials like resins and oxides, and must be comfortable engaging actively with production, maintenance, safety, and planning teams on the manufacturing floor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure raw materials, specifically chemicals and resins, required for manufacturing operations.

• Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and planning teams to ensure timely procurement of materials in line with the production schedule.

• Utilize ERP/MRP systems, predominantly SAP or JDE, to manage purchasing and inventory activities, and manually maintain spreadsheets as necessary.

• Actively participate in floor activities to understand material requirements and ensure alignment with production needs.

• Manage procurement planning to ensure material arrivals are synchronized with daily operational demands due to limited storage space.

• Monitor material forecasts and supply schedules, adjusting orders proactively to meet dynamic production needs.

Skills and Attributes for Success:

• Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP MM module or JDE).

• Ability to forecast direct material and packaging requirements accurately.

• Comfortable with hands-on engagement on the production floor in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

• Strong spreadsheet and manual tracking skills due to limited automation.

• Proactive communication skills for cross-department collaboration.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing schedules.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (4-year degree is mandatory; candidates without a completed bachelor’s degree will not be considered).

• 1–3+ years of relevant Buyer/Procurement experience within a manufacturing setting.

• Prior experience with raw material procurement, particularly chemicals, PVC resin, oxides, or materials used in injection molding processes, is highly desirable.
