Your Role As a Utility Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining the sanitary condition of the facility and to fill in for 1 to 2 operating positions in the plant. To succeed, you must be able to:

Above all you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner.

Your Responsibilities

  • Routine cleaning of floors, equipment, roofs and outside grounds
  • Specialized cleaning tasks such as, but not limited to bin cleanings, sifter, filter sock changes
  • Special duties assigned by management
  • Basic process maintenance
  • Cross-train in at least 1 other operator job
  • Responsible for understanding and following all personnel and equipment safety policies; sanitation policies; following all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ascend and Descend stairs throughout the facility.
  • Climb ladders (both step and extension)
  • Wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves) and task specific PPE (respiratory protection, goggles, etc.)
  • Follow verbal and written instructions (English).
  • Communicate with peers and supervisors (English)

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Must be willing and able to work additional hours which may include overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
  • Must be willing to accept accountability and work well in a team environment.
