The Plastic Case Production Operator will play a crucial role in supporting the unit’s daily production targets, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining the quality of ABB’s electrical distribution products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using tools and machinery, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding ABB’s high production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products, including product packing when integrated with production lines.
Operate machinery and equipment on the shop floor according to standard operating procedures.
Manually assemble components or use light hand tools to complete production tasks.
Read and interpret technical diagrams, instructions, and documentation to ensure precise assembly of systems or panels.
Conduct regular quality testing as part of defined production processes to ensure products meet ABB’s quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes and ensure compliance with company standards.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Proficiency in using common hand tools such as tape measures, calipers, and grinders.
Ability to safely use ladders and perform tasks requiring physical effort.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
Working Conditions:
This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment, which requires a combination of physical and technical tasks. Candidates should expect:
Standing, bending, twisting, or walking for extended periods.
Frequent use of computers for data entry, monitoring, and communication.
Regular handling of tools, machines, and components under established safety protocols.
Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
A focus on maintaining safety, productivity, and efficiency within a collaborative team.
