Duties & responsibilities:
- Operate as the primary administrator for the TIMESTEP Astronomical Software Engineering Program.
- Coordination with industry and partners:
- Plan, develop, and coordinate internship opportunities for students with entities/partners central to astrophysics and software development.
- Student outreach and programming:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for engaging undergrad students in program; assess and revise approaches for improved outcomes.
- Organize and facilitate weekly meetings with students and program coordinators to support internship experience; supervise graduate student coordinators, and
- Develop and oversee effective student mentoring structure and meetings for coordinators and interns, to assist interns in pursuing career exploration, developing career paths, networks, and job searches.
- Create workshop and/or training materials to support students in career exploration and career development, student recruitment and outreach, etc.
- Coordinate student opportunities with TIMESTEP programming; expand student training and career development experience by initiating and coordinating with other campus entities and groups.
- Lead on program documentation and reporting including communication, student data, outcome metrics, and development process.
